Riff Raff
Pilot
Hoot Gibson

Hi there Race Fans and Fellow Addicts,
Alrighty then! I finally have my first pictures back from my first shot
at being a legitimate Photo Journalist. I am not disappointed. Out of 24
pictures, I got 8 that are pretty darn nice in my own humble opinion. I
sincerely apologize for the wait, but I am sure the wait will be worth
it. I should have the rolls from Qualifying and the first day of Racing
back tomorrow, and hopefully have my first story up by Wednesday afternoon.
I know, you've heard that before, but I promise. I have Wednesday off, and
I should be able to scan and plug my pictures into the story for the last
day of Qualifying, (the story is already written for the most part). So,
with that out of the way, Here is the best of what I got on Thursday, the
14th at Pylon 2, during Heat 1C.

The picture is of Hoot Gibson in Race #99, "Riff Raff". There is more to
tell, regarding "Riff Raff", and you might have read my Friday Update on
the homepage. They broke on Friday and were out the rest of the weekend.
A beautiful Aircraft and great Pilot combine to make "Riff Raff" a threat on
any given day. Hoot is a very nice guy as well, and was at the Dago/Pylon 1
party Friday night, signing autographs with Bruce Lockwood and Skip Holm.
They'll be back next year I hope, and probably faster than ever. Hoot flies
a great line around the pylons, and is sure to win someday.

That's my story for this week's installment of the Air Race Addict's favorite photos.
Thanks once again for visiting.
Sincerely,
The Air Race Addict
