"Sunday Silver"
International Formula 1
2000 Reno National Championship
Air Races

Hi there Race Fans and Fellow Addicts,
This week's edition of the Addict's Favorite Photo depicts what is common in the
ranks of International Formula 1 racing. Close competition! With the withdrawl of
Jon Sharp's "Nemisis" for display in the National Air & Space Museum, the racing
is once again back to the front instead of back in the pack. Here we have Race #17,
"Annie", flown by Carl Swenson, being passed by the eventual winner of this year's
Silver Race on Sunday morning. The winner, John Housley flying Race #43, "Aero Magic"
finished after a good race between the top three aircraft at a 217.219 mph. Alot of
attention is paid to the Unlimiteds, and rightly so, as they are alot of why we go
to Reno. But, there are alot of people involved in racing, maintaining, and simply
enjoying these tiny brothers to the Unlimiteds.

So, this year, with my new Press credentials, I decided that I would at least take
the opportunity to introduce people, (and myself), to the other classes of racing
that may be seen at Reno. Next week I'll showcase a photo from the Sport Biplane
Class. There is definitely something for everyone at the National Championship Air
Races and Airshow! There is alot of different Air Racing to be seen and experienced
and all Classes are what make Reno so special.

Thanks once again for visiting.
Sincerely,
The Air Race Addict
