The Legendary "Ole' Yeller"
John Bagley, Owner
2000 National Championship Air Races

Hi there Race Fans and Fellow Addicts,
This Aircraft has not been seen in the way she was seen for at least 25 years. Ole
Yeller is the former trusty mount of Bob Hoover. He used to perform a wonderful show
during the days at Reno, and I am sure alot of people would concur that she is missed
doing the loops, 16 point rolls, and the Tennessee Waltz. Bob used to bring the Racers
down the Chute for the start, until the slowest Aircraft were being held up by the
basically stock Mustang. Bob also performed the job that Steve Hinton has been handed
as shepherd to stricken racers on the course, a job he performed admirably. The Mustang
was bought by John K. Bagley and raced as Race#40 in 1999. John has thankfully left the
aircraft in the scheme that Bob Hoover had her in when she was sold. I am glad that he
has done so and brought the aircraft back to Reno. It is one of the mainstays of the
Reno National Championship Air Races and hopefully will remain so. I took this photo
during a Dawn Patrol, as you might be able to tell from the lighting. I will be putting
up a page of Dawn Patrol photos and a story soon. Please check back.

Thanks once again for visiting.
Sincerely,
The Air Race Addict
