Pretty Maids, All in a Row
Corsair Row
1984 National Championship Air Races

Hi there Race Fans and Fellow Air Race/Airshow Addicts,
I was looking through my archives the other day and ran across this picture
of a Reno Past. There are four Corsairs present in this picture. Bob Yancey's
"Old Blue", Race 101, was a Reno Warrior for many years. He eventually, to my
understanding, used the R-2800 from this Corsair for the racer once known as
Perestroika, now known as Czech Mate. In the left background, you can see the
Super Corsair. This is about the only time I remember seeing four Corsairs at
Reno. I think I was lucky to get all four in one picture, and if I had thought
at the time that this was unique, I would have done a better job of composing
the shot. So, I thought this would be a good photo to end the Millenium, (in the
opinion of some), with a blast from the past. I doubt this scene will ever be re-
peated again at Reno. It's unfortunate, but reality I suppose.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank all the visitors to the site over the
last year and a half, giving me the inspiration to share my view of the Fastest
Piston Powered Racers in the world. I have been involved in another project that
involves Reno Racer Aircraft for Flight Simulator by Microsoft. I sort of dropped
the ball for a couple of weeks, but I am back. Please check back for more additions.
Thanks once again for visiting and have a safe and Happy New Year.
Sincerely, Bill Clark
The Air Race Addict
